Space, performance and efficiency

The Heesen 55M Quinta Essentia is the fastest yacht ever built in its rank by the Dutch shipyard Hessen Yachts. It is 55 meters long and 9.9 meters wide. Its hull is made out  of aluminum and the ship reaches a top speed of 24 knots per hour. This vessel offers a great combination of space, performance and high efficiency due to its pair of MTU 20V 4000 engines M93l.

Its name comes from Latin, “quinta essentia”, a term which in the Middle Ages was used to designate a fifth element which at the time was hypothetical, and is now recognized by modern physics as ether. Metaphorically, the Hessen 55M Quinta Essentia, joins the four traditional elements (earth, air, sea and fire) in the design of its cabins and exterior, while integrating the fifth element in the master suite.

The design was done by Heesen Yachts in collaboration with Van Oossanen & Associates; a company specialized in naval architecture, and Omega Architects, who developed the interiors. The result is a sum of harmonic space and innovative comfort. The master cabin equals in size to the 80 Meter. It features innovative side balconies, a “walk-in” closet and a private office, giving this suite the atmosphere of a large apartment.

The sun deck has enough room for a closed Central Lounge, a spa, a gym, or a simple open space with a Jacuzzi for sun-bathing or dine under the stars. It has an additional four-meter pool on the main deck. The pool level remains constant regardless of how many swimmers are in it, and as an outstanding detail, it features such a long and abundant cascade, that the falling water can be used at night as a screen to project a movie (see p. 85).

Three additional exterior areas of the yacht include a solarium and a breakfast area on the foredeck, where the owner and his 12 guests can have a great time, enjoying the view limited only by the horizon. This location also offers privacy when the yacht is in port.

Besides the owner’s suite on the main deck, the Heesen 55 Quinta Essentia has two spacious guest cabins that can be used as one large room, two double cabins or two “twin” size. The guest’s suites have the same level of amenities as the main suite as well as an excellent level of light and space.

On the main deck lies a living room, designed by the Hessen’s and artisans and the Sinnes specialists who, together, achieved a particular style in pearl lacquer which was applied to the walls. Over 20 plates of this material were carved giving a unique touch of elegance to this area. It includes an Ad Notam ® display with a sophisticated appearance of glass or mirror, made especially for 55 Metre Quinta Essentia by Heesen. Its perfect fit on Macassar cabinets prevents distortions when turning on the high resolution monitor.

Another outstanding feature is the ability to adapt upon request to a superstructure that allows receiving a helicopter. Its  25 feet aft dock is dry, for the  guests comfort when boarding the  recreational  boat stored in the garage and for them to have a better experience during their  Heesen 55M Quinta Esentia.voyage.

The Sky Lounge has a number-eight- shaped figure, formed by two rooms connected at their intersection and surrounded by windows which open laterally, communicating thus, with the outside aft deck. This can be exploited to place many amenities and make the experience even more enjoyable.

The cockpit is equipped with an optical glass touchscreen console, a weight and power regulator, making the crew to have ideal conditions during the voyage at sea. This feature is required for the 55M Quinta Essentia in order to meet the standards on crew accommodation of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, the ruling entity based in the United Kingdom.

The Quinta Essentia thus, covers the four elements in a ship and finds the mysticism of the fifth element in the sea, adding all the comforts and without detriment to its size, efficiency and flawless    performance in sailing.
