Built entirely from custom lightweight aluminum, the Turkish shipyard SES Yachts unveiled the GX42 RPH yacht.

Measuring 42 meters in length with an 8.5-meter beam, the model combines exceptional structural integrity with optimized hydrodynamics and a refined Raised Pilot House (RPH) profile. It was built for GX Superyachts at the SES Yachts facility in Tuzla, Istanbul. The vessel has a gross tonnage of approximately 351 GT, a displacement of 260 tonnes, and a certified hull registered under the Maltese flag.

This flagship project represents a perfect convergence of five decades of custom shipbuilding tradition and over 15 years of pioneering hybrid propulsion experience developed by the team behind Greenline Yachts.

Successfully completing a project of this technical complexity relied on absolute precision and close synergy among all the partners involved:

  • Shipyard and construction: As a third-generation family-owned shipyard, SES Yachts handled the entire build—from the custom aluminum hull and superstructure to the integration of complex mechanical and electrical systems, bespoke interior joinery, and detailed outfitting.
  • Brand and vision: Developed under the GX Superyachts / Greenline Yachts umbrella, led by Vladimir Zinchenko, Maurizio Magri, and Andrea Armas.
  • Exterior and interior design: Marco Casali of Too Design shaped the yacht’s elegant exterior lines, the layout of the raised pilot house, and the family-oriented interior spaces.
  • Naval architecture and engineering: Francesco Rogantin of NAMES (Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering Studio) led the hull design, naval architecture, and structural optimization. PHOTO 1

Conceived around the principles of responsible yachting, the GX42 incorporates a sophisticated series-hybrid propulsion system designed for quiet, low-impact cruising. It is powered by a pair of MAN D2862 LE 425 diesel engines (749 kW at 2,100 RPM) coupled with ZF 2300 gearboxes (4:1 ratio) and two 200 kW electric motors.

The system is supported by two 130 kW continuous-duty diesel generators, a high-capacity 940 kWh battery bank, and up to 27 kW of solar power generation seamlessly integrated into the hardtop. The result is a cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 17 knots.

Its design allows for up to 48 hours of silent, zero-emission operation while at anchor, reducing total onboard electricity consumption by up to 45%. In all-electric mode, it achieves silent cruising at speeds of up to 6 knots.

Designed by Marco Casali, the interior creates a calm, welcoming atmosphere dedicated to relaxed family living, combining natural materials, soft curves, and understated luxury. It accommodates 10 guests across 5 suites, including a forward-facing master suite on the main deck with a private foredeck terrace, and a magnificent lower-deck VIP suite featuring its own fold-out terrace over the water.

Additionally, the yacht features four dedicated crew cabins accommodating up to seven people, bespoke Italian woodwork throughout, and a spacious aft beach club with fold-down side wings.
