Magellano 27M is the third chapter of an evolutionary story that began in the early 2000s thanks to the vision of Paolo and Giovanna Vitelli, who created a completely new category: the crossover of the seas, generating a revolution in experience and design comparable to the impact of the SUV on the automotive world.
As a true crossover, Magellano offers the freedom to dispense with compromises and simply enjoy it all: a design that combines large volumes for long trips with elegant and timeless lines, and an experience enhanced by a dual-mode hull that guarantees superior comfort in a wide range of sea conditions and speeds.
Defined by its vertical bow and double keel, this highly efficient hybrid hull combines the advantages of displacement and planing designs, reducing fuel consumption and softening the impact of waves.
Magellano 27M unites Finnish designer Jarkko Jämsén with AMDL CIRCLE, Michele De Lucchi and Davide Angeli, is in itself a tribute to the independent and versatile nature of the yacht.
Spanning iconic superyachts, cutting-edge sail design and industrial craftsmanship, Jämsén's multifaceted talent gives the exterior a bold sculptural force. Inside, that pure architecture adopts an Italian accent, guided by De Lucchi's characteristic decision to entrust the entire narrative to the warmth of the wood. Its heart is the lodge, a Mediterranean sanctuary that blurs the boundaries between inside and outside, where life on board slows down during long voyages and quiet anchorages.
At the heart of the project is the main deck, conceived as a vast loggia over the sea: a deeply glazed space, bathed in light and articulated by wooden architectural elements that evoke Mediterranean pergolas and patios. The result is an environment suspended between the interior and the exterior, a place where the landscape is integrated into daily life and where the design does not divide, but filters, accompanies and protects in continuity with nature.
De Lucchi's connection to ancient Japanese craftsmanship creates a subtle fusion in the space. Tactile 3D wooden surfaces are combined with side tables hand-carved using the traditional Naguri technique. Above the headboard, the wall does not display works of art: it becomes the work of art itself, wrapped in the precious HOSOO fabric, hand-woven on 300-year-old Kyoto looms. Its delicate pattern represents a microscopic enlargement of a cross section of a tree trunk, delicately returning to the essence of the wood.
Equipped with two 1,650 HP MAN V12 engines, Magellano 27M demonstrates its true free spirit, offering the ability to navigate comfortably and efficiently at the most common speeds, between 16 and 18 knots, while maintaining the ability to exceed 24 knots when necessary, in addition to a range of approximately 1,000 nautical miles at 12 knots for longer voyages and extended trips off the electrical grid.
The optional zero-emissions mode, powered by lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, allows guests to spend part of the day, or even an entire night, at anchor, in complete comfort and silence, without the need to use the generators. This eliminates noise, vibrations and emissions during stationary use. Complex technologies have a simple purpose: to make life on board even more pleasant.
