The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down model is available in two new versions: 18-karat pink gold and white gold. Both models feature a blue dial and are limited to 300 pieces each.

The name of the 1815 Up/Down refers to the birth year of Ferdinand Adolph Lange and to the characteristic "Up/Down" power-reserve indicator, a feature with a long tradition in Saxon precision watchmaking.

The model is defined by its eponymous function, which has a rich heritage. The "AB" (Down) indicator represents the movement when unwound, while "AUF" (Up) indicates a fully wound movement. The pink gold version, with a case diameter of 37.5 millimeters, features a blue dial made of solid silver (Ag 925) and is limited to 300 pieces.

The model focuses exclusively on its primary function. As is typical of many Lange watches, the time display reflects the long tradition of Saxon precision watchmaking.

This watch is available with case diameters of 37.5 and 39 millimeters, as well as in two dial colors. Special editions in 18-karat pink and white gold enrich the range with two refined versions: thanks to the blue dial and compact case dimensions, they lend a contemporary air to the watch's traditional design. The slightly larger model is also available in pink or white gold and sports a silver-colored dial with blued-steel hands.

The dial of the 1815 Up/Down boasts a rich design and showcases traditional elements of Saxon precision watchmaking. A standout feature is the prominent railway-track minute scale that elegantly frames the dial. Trefoil markers positioned at 3, 6, 9, and 12 o'clock subtly indicate the quarter-hours. Together with the lancet-shaped hands, the distinctive Arabic numerals ensure optimal legibility. Thus, the 1815 Up/Down presents an understated, timeless aesthetic that embodies the values of Saxon craftsmanship.

A view through the sapphire-crystal case back reveals the mechanical beauty of the movement. Traditional elements characterizing many design and technical aspects include the untreated German silver three-quarter plate, visibly integrated winding wheels adorned with a solarization finish, gold chatons secured by blued screws, and a balance cock hand-engraved using a freehand technique.
