To mark the 50th anniversary of the Ingenieur SL, the Ingenieur Automatic 35 "50th Anniversary" joins the IWC Schaffhausen Ingenieur collection as a commemorative limited edition featuring a 35-millimeter case diameter.
Despite its compact dimensions, it retains the design codes that defined the Ingenieur SL (Reference 1832)—created by Gérald Genta in 1976—combining excellent ergonomics with exquisite finishing.
Limited to 1,150 pieces, this model features a stainless steel case and integrated bracelet. The bracelet, adjustable via its central links, ensures superior ergonomics and exceptional comfort. The silver-plated dial, with its distinctive brushed finish, draws inspiration from a historic 1970s version of the Ingenieur SL. The rhodium-plated hands and indices are filled with Super-LumiNova and individually hand-fitted.
As a subtle nod to the anniversary, the lightning bolt traditionally found in the Ingenieur logo on the dial has been replaced by the number "50." The Ingenieur Automatic 35 is distinguished by an elaborate surface finish that combines satin-finished and polished areas, adding depth to the design and reflecting light to striking effect. It incorporates the signature Ingenieur bezel, one of the collection's distinctive design elements.
Secured to the case by five screws, the bezel features a satin finish with polished edges that accentuate the sculptural elegance of Gérald Genta's design. The transparent sapphire-glass case back allows one to admire the 47110 calibre, an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The movement is decorated with Côtes de Genève and perlage, and features a gold-plated rotor.
