Presented in a white gold case and available in a limited edition of five pieces, the Master Hybris Artistica Calibre 945 showcases Jaeger-LeCoultre’s artistic creativity, mastery of decorative crafts, and technical ingenuity.

As a tribute to the celestial vault, the dial is constructed in several layers, dominated by a domed structure that also encompasses the Cosmotourbillon. Visible around the edge of the dome and beneath the tourbillon, the deepest level of the dial is adorned with white transferred inscriptions indicating the names of the months and the seconds of the tourbillon.

Hand-decorated in the Manufacture’s Métiers Rares (Rare Crafts) workshop, the dial features grisaille enamel—a demanding 16th-century technique revived by the Maison. Successive firings create an intense blue background, upon which the celestial motif is hand-painted using a white powdered enamel known as "Blanc de Limoges." Layer by layer, subtle chiaroscuro contrasts and remarkable three-dimensional depth are achieved.

The celestial map displays the constellations as they appear from the Manufacture in real time. The Cosmotourbillon consists of 73 components, enabling it to complete a full revolution around the center of the dial in one sidereal day (23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds).

Calibre 945 also combines astronomical complications with a minute repeater—one of the most powerful in the Maison’s repertoire, thanks to its trébuchet hammers and cathedral gongs. The technical challenge lies in the complexity of the mechanism required to translate the exact time—as indicated by the hands—into a series of precisely programmed chimes, with distinct sounds for the hours, quarters, and minutes. Transcending its traditional role as a gravity-defying regulating organ, the patented Cosmotourbillon is a 60-second flying tourbillon that orbits the dial in a counter-clockwise direction over the course of a sidereal day. In perfect synchrony with a celestial map of the Northern Hemisphere, it tracks the real-time movement of the constellations as viewed from the Joux Valley—home to the Manufacture since 1833.
